First month of our new store in Antwerp being open!
| Nicola Vermeersch
WAUW! What an amazing first month of opening our second store in Antwerp. We can't thank you guys enough for the amazing support and the people that come visit us in our new establishment. We grew so fast and so much happened in that first month of opening in Antwerp, we almost couldn't keep up with it all. Here are some of the crazy things we experiencedΒ in the first month of the opening.Β

our store in Antwerp really came into the spotlight this month! Several journalists came by right away to report on the opening of our store and also to do interviews. It was great that we could share our story with Belgium and tell them that everything is possible as long as you believe in it and are willing to work hard for it. Because look, after our store in Brussels has been open for 1 year, we have already been able to open a store in Antwerp. We ourselves are looking forward to expanding further but you will hear more about that in the future ;) If you want a Drip Drop store in your city, make sure to comment this down below and maybe you can get your Drip from Drip Drops in your own city!
viewers of the sidemen will probably recognize the type of video our store has appeared in. While Josh and Vik (2 members of the Sidemen youtube channel) were participating in a race through Belgium, they ended up in Antwerp. A challenge where they had to buy an outfit in Belgian colors brought them to our store. They both bought a pair of the Dunk Low Golden Rod (2021) to complete their outfit with the yellow color (from the Belgian flag).

So we think it's super that we were able to offer them our service and help them succeed in their challenge with extremely good customer service. Of course it was also a good promotion and we hope to reach new customers all over the world! Maybe see you soon!

Looking back ourselfs
Now we asked ourselves what we thought of the first month of opening in antwerp. It is important to always look back at what went right and what went wrong and what could possibly be better. After all, you learn and can only come out stronger. So here is a little peek behind the scenes of our team and what they thought of their first month in Antwerp.

Well hell yes, the first month was a blast! The community is so sweet, friendly and just super supportive. I can say that the atmosphere in Antwerp is very different from Brussels (where our other store is). There is a different fashion style in both cities and it is more dynamic than in Brussels. When you put it that way, it's like Antwerp and Brussels are two different worlds. For example, Brussels is more historical/touristic and Antwerp is more of a city for shopping, eating, drinking, etc. Also, I can definitely train my Dutch language a bit better because there are a lot more Dutch people here in Antwerp xd. In addition, business in Antwerp is also booming. Partly also because we have more space which means more customers. But overall I like being in Antwerp. We have only been here 1 month, but there is definitely a bright future ahead of us.

What a first month! It was very positive all around! We were super well received in kammenstraat. Not only by you guys and the people of Antwerp but also by our fellow resell shops. Everyone is super hyped that Drip Drops is finally in Antwerp and continues to expand. Everyone was really just mega supportive from day 1 which was definitely appreciated by the whole team. People in Antwerp are really appreciative and can't wait to see what the future holds for Drip Drops.

Sales-wise we are definitely happy with how Antwerp has been doing! We do have to admit that it was not easy because we have a lot of stock and 2 stores. So in other words we had to make several choices about which shoes we wanted to put where. Here and there it was a gamble but we learned a lot from that and after our first month everything is really starting to become clearer and we see which choices were good choices.

the store opening in Antwerp was great, it was everything we wanted it to be. a lot of people who came by and people who have already been to brussels. We had a lot of recognition in that respect. so it shows that the brand is already pretty well-known in Belgium. We should also not forget that in the first weeks the press often came by to do interviews and write articles about theΒ amazing sneaker world and what our role is in that. Everyone was super friendly, also all the customers in Antwerp were great. The interaction is pleasant because there are a lot more local customers than international customers compared to the store in Brussels. Every day we learn something different and it helps us communicate with our customers.... So all in all, a great first month in Antwerp!
