Dunks to Dunk With, Keeping Equilibrium with New Balance, Staying Ahead with Unreleased Heat
We’re already nearing half-way of 2022, time flies like never before. Nike, Adidas and New Balance have supplied us with insane drops over the last few months, but the expectation that more drops should equal a larger W-rate seems to be wishful thinking. Worry not, as Drip Drops always supplies you with the latest and craziest heat for the lowest prices in town! We provide an overview of the Drip that Dropped recently.
1. Brand New Dunks
Dunks have become new standard of footwear. On an almost daily basis, Nike is dropping beautiful colourways, crazy collabs, adding new materials to the upper, really proving the versatility of this silhouette.
If you like the silhouette, but are looking for a more understated minimalist design, the genreal-release Dunks are your go-to shoes. The “Rose Whisper” extracts all beauty from the current pastel-trend, implementing soft Rose paneling on a crispy white leather base.
The 2022 Easter-exclusive Dunk Low is yet another toned-down, sleek colourway, with tonal blue-lilac elements decorating the upper. Not as easter-y as previous releases, but overall more wearable. Lastly the Dunk Low Racer Blue offers a more contrast-rich design, with a fierce blue leather keeping the design icy and spicy.

For the Simpsons-enthusiasts that were disappointed by their collab with adidas, direct competitor Nike took a different approach. Mainly utilizing Bart Simpsons aesthetic, the duo’s take on the SB Dunk Low resulted in a colorful, vibrant sneaker that has the Simpsons signature look, but is a lot more wearable than previous collabs with the cartoon series.
For the retro-photographers out there, Polaroid brand has received the honor to put their design onto a Dunk Low, and the final product is fascinating. Beautifully implementing the RGB colours on the swoosh, combined with a contrast Black/White upper, the shoe symbolizes the transition to colorization, while still paying homage to the old monochromatic approach.
Lastly, and perhaps the most exciting Dunks to release this year, Union LA has once again teamed up with Nike to provide their takes on the Dunk Low. The “Passport Pack” released a set of three Dunk Lows, featuring a tear-away synthetic upper to reveal the true colourway underneath. For those who (righteously) fell in love with past tear-away designs (Air Force 1 Reveal, Dunk High x Carpet Company, etc.) now receive the chance to co-create their own Dunk Low with the immaculate Passport Pack.

2. Newest Balance
The sneaker-stars of 2022 are continuing to rise in popularity, thanks to their constant focus on design and quality. With Aimé Leon Dore’s Teddy Santis as head of design team, the brand is prospering more than ever, and we should be thankful.
Continuing their takes on the New Balance 550, the Au Lait colorway may be one of the best so far. Creamy all over, the sneaker’s milky inspiration can be inferred from the tonal orange material on the upper, complementing the off-white base exquisitely. For those who prefer less milk in their coffee, the Black/Cream edition might be a suitable colourway too. The white base is enhanced by creamy details on the logo and midsole, while coffee-black elements decorate the upper and outsole.
If you’re set on 550’s and are looking for the newest version of the perhaps the most talked-about shoe of last year, the latest colourway of the New Balance 2002R Protection Pack is also available at Drip Drops. The “Mirage Grey” features the renowned distressed upper in a soft grey, keeping the overall look minimalistic and autumn-ready. The perfect dad-shoe, one of the most comfortable sneakers out there, and a silhouette that has already won all possible prizes. Wherever New Balance takes this silhouette in the future, the Protection Pack is already in the history books.
3. Air Jordan 2
Slowly, but surely, this sneaker is on its best way to become the silhouette of the season. Revived by Virgil Abloh’s take on the low-top version with Off-White back in 2021, Jordan Brand is now set to release multiple retros and collabs throughout 2022.
Union LA’s take on the Jordan 2 implements a Grey canvas upper, overlay with matching suede, finished off with Union LA-inspired details for a deconstructed look. Exposed foam, blueprint details and an external tag convert this sneaker into a work-in-progress design, which adds more than just aesthetics. The overall finish has a character, expresses inspiration, and pays homage to the history of the US-based sneaker boutique.
For those of you looking to be ahead of the curve, we have something special for you. Previously only seen in leaked images or teased pics on Instagram, the Jordan 2 Maison Château Rouge is now available in select sizes at Drip Drops. Believe me, you won’t find this sneaker anywhere else for this price.
The Paris-based sneaker boutique has previously collaborated with Jordan Brand on their take of the AJ1 Mid, successfully reviving the hype around the silhouette. Looking at this Jordan 2, I can guarantee that they’ll accomplish that with this silhouette too.
A creamy off-white upper sets the tone of the overall look, but contrast and vibrance is ensured with MCR’s flawless eye for aesthetics. Striking orange can be found on the brogue contrast stitching, panels, and on the outsole. MCR’s signature stripe patterns are subtly added to the eyestays, paying homage to Paris and the boutique’s heritage. The overall look is a stunner, and it’s more than just an eye-catcher. Be ahead of the trend with an unreleased version of what will be one of the most talked-about sneakers of the year. Available now at Drip Drops.
Exciting times, it’s even hard for us to catch up on all the releases. Nevertheless, we are always doing our best to provide you with the most hyped exclusive sneakers, at the best prices.
